The HoLEP method, which has been used since the 1990s, has not received enough attention due to the low effect of laser energy and the lack of sufficient experience for the method. However, especially with the developments in laser technologies in recent years, the HoLEP method has started to give more effective results and has become more widely used.
The method can be applied to prostates of all sizes, and the first method to come to mind, especially in prostates over 150 g, is the HoLEP method. The hospital stay is short and the risk of recurrence is very low. Since the urination area called the sphincter is not touched during the procedure, urinary incontinence is not a problem in this method as in other methods.
